Although a physical process, and often seen as just that, Panchakarma acts over all parts of your being, including your mind and spirit. As it is such a powerful programme it affects not only the way you are but also how you think and feel.

These changes in the way you see yourself and the world become apparent the moment you start Poorvakarma. During the Panchakarma itself you will be even more aware. This might bring up unsolved problems which may make you feel upset, sometimes even physically, as detoxing can be unsettling and uncomfortable.

All of this must be discussed with your personal Panchakarma therapist so we can assist you during this phase. Not everyone has the same experience. Feelings can range from joy, elation, relief, sadness, grief, among others. The more aware you become of unsolved issues in your life, things often buried in our mind, the more effective your Panchakarma will be.

It often works as a catalyser, allowing you to succeed in solving your problems and releasing these emotions. Meditation, yogatherapy and pranayama are really effective ways to bring forth these issues and solve them positively, releasing your body, mind and spirit. It’s very important to consciously acknowledge these feelings as they are a positive cleansing effect. Please let us know if you are experiencing something unusual or that you are concerned about.

Panchakarma is a dynamic healing process that, once set in motion, will have physical, mental, emotional and spiritual effects for weeks and sometimes even months after it is over. You must take care of your health during the last phase of the programme, Pachatkarma, to guarantee present and long term healing.
